What is being a goalie like?  Goalies love the feel of the ice, the energy of the players, the excitement of the crowd, and the pressure they hold. They know that their team is counting on them to stop the shots. These are all of the things that make the goalie’s position so exciting.

Being a goalie is very hard, but fun. There is a lot of technique, form, and style needed, but each goalie is unique. Take goalie Carey Price, for example. He’s a , "stay at home goalie". This means he has a wide stance. His opinion on a goalie’s stance will be different than Carey’s style, Jonathan Quick, Ben Bishop, and Tuukka Rask. The position is fun because you're the hero--everyone on the ice pig-piles on top of you after a win, and you feel like a hero! Though, if you lose, it makes you feel the opposite.  A second fun thing about being a goalie is the pads. The pads may not be graceful, but they make you feel like the Hulk and that’s pretty cool! If anyone enters YOUR crease you can do whatever you want to do to them--like trip them or push them, or a personal favorite, whack them between the legs. As you can see there are many amazing things about being a goalie.
