This year at Orono Middle School we are interviewing the teachers. I interviewed Mrs. Deschaine has been teaching at OMS for four years, and is going into her fifth. Enjoy!

What classes do you teach at Orono Middle School?

       Math, Science and technology.

What is your most vivid memory of growing up in Maine?

       I grew up in Northern Maine, and we got to cut and stack firewood, so riding in my father’s truck and being in the woods with my dad and my sisters.
 

What is your favorite class to teach and why?

       Algebra because I like to see a lot of the ah ha moments students have in that class.
 

If you could go to any country which would you go to?

       Australia, because I like to explore the outdoors and they do a lot of that there.
 

What are your thoughts on Pokemon Go?

       That I wish they would make a Harry Potter Go instead. You could hunt for bogarts.

 

Do you binge Netflix?

       No, I don’t watch much TV.
 

What is your advice to new students?

       Be confident that you all have something great to offer.
